CSMS job roles
Staff who work in cervical screening must have an appropriate job role added to their Care Identity profile to access the Cervical Screening Management System (CSMS).
1. GP practice staff who manage notification lists
This includes:
-
GPs
-
GP practice nurses
-
GP practice managers
-
GP admin staff
Staff who manage the list of patients due to be invited for cervical screening (prior notification list - PNL) need to be assigned one of the below job role codes on their Care Identity profile.
2. Sample takers
This includes:
- GP sample takers
- GUM clinic sample takers
- sexual health sample takers
- DMS sample takers
- detained estates sample takers
Sample takers should use CSMS to view patient screening history, check eligibility and fill in HMR101 forms.
They need to be assigned one of the below job role codes on their Care Identity profile.
3. Laboratory staff
This includes:
- cytologists
- lab scientists
- quality control
Laboratory staff who need to view patient screening history in order to process samples will need to be assigned one of the below job role codes on their Care Identity profile.
4. Colposcopy staff (including gynaecology)
This includes:
- colposcopists
- colposcopist admin
- colposcopist nurses
- Cervical Screening programme leads (CSPLs)
These users need to view patient screening history in order to provide the appropriate treatment. Users who take the sample and need to view patient screening history, and print or fill in a HMR101 form.
All of the above will need to be assigned one of the below job role codes.
5. Staff working in the Screening Quality Assurance Service
This includes all staff working in the Screening Quality Assurance Service (SQAS) who need read only access to CSMS and the following core functional requirements:
- run relevant operational reports
- batch downloads of screening histories
- look up screening participants and see any audit trails
These users will need to be assigned the job role code below.
