Part of Information for practices

The role of your ICB

ICBs must engage with the NHSE National Commercial and Procurement Hub to ensure that only products meeting the required capabilities are in place and/or purchased.

Contracts can move to new frameworks as they become available.

Where ICB-wide procurements are implemented, ICBs must be able to demonstrate assurance that collaborative engagement/activity has taken place with PCNs/practices.

How your ICB will work with you

ICBs will work collaboratively with PCNs/practices to:
  • confirm ICB plans for the selection and delivery of digital tools across each practice
  • ensure all practices have the digital tools which are aligned to the ICB digital strategies
  • provide assurance of PCN/practice collaboration for ICB-wide buys
  • engage with NHS England's National Commercial and Procurement Hub to support the buying process, including the expiry of the Accubook contract on 30 June 2024 (reimbursements can only be guaranteed where hub have been engaged)
The NHSE National Commercial and Procurement Hub will continue providing enhanced advice and support to ensure:
  • products selected are appropriate, meet the standards and capabilities as outlined in the DP Framework, chosen collaboratively and on correct contract terms
  • contracts can move to new frameworks as they become available
