Withdrawing pending credentials
How to cancel the issue of pending Digital Staff Passport credentials that the staff member has not yet reviewed and added to their Microsoft Authenticator digital wallet.
Withdrawing a credential will prevent the staff member from accepting, rejecting or sharing it. You should use this function if you notice an error with the credential. It is different to revoking or archiving existing credentials.
The staff member will be able to see a credential has been withdrawn if they go to their passport history within the employee self-service portal. They will not be notified by email or text.
Log onto the NHS Digital Staff Passport employer’s portal using your email address and password.
Note: for extra security, multi-factor authentication (MFA) has been added to the Digital Staff Passport login process. Read our user guide on logging in with MFA.
Select either 'Staff passports' or 'Reviewed staff passports' on the left-hand side to view existing passports. Staff members can appear in either of these screens depending on their Digital Staff Passport status.
All existing staff passports will be shown, along with additional details about the staff member. Select the staff member’s name to review their details.
Scroll down the passport profile page to 'pending credentials'. Select 'View credentials' link to see all pending credentials.
You'll see a list of all pending credentials. Select the 'Withdraw' option next to any credential to start the process.
Full details of the credential will be displayed.
Select 'Yes, withdraw credential', enter the reason for withdrawal and select 'Continue' to proceed.
You'll see a message confirming that the credential has been withdrawn.
