Create a self-declared new starter information credential
An optional Digital Staff Passport credential that can help you share your personal information more quickly with new trusts.
A new starter information credential is an optional credential that provides information that can smooth the sharing of information with new trusts if you should move in the future.
All information in the credential is optional, but you can include:
- personal information
- identity document information
- contact details
- emergency contacts
This information is often required by your employer for various new starter processes, such as HR, payroll and ID badges.
To create a new starter information credential, first log in to your trust's Digital Staff Passport employee self-service portal.
You'll now see a QR code.
Scan the QR code using the Microsoft Authenticator app on your smartphone. To get to the scan function, select 'Verified IDs' in the bottom-right of the screen, then the scan icon in the top-right of the screen.
Alternatively, if you’re using your smartphone rather than a computer to complete this process, you can select the green button to connect to Microsoft Authenticator app.
You’ll then be prompted to 'Share' at the bottom of the screen.
The Authenticator app will notify you that you can return to the previous application. When you return to your browser, the screen will refresh to show you are logged into your trust’s employee self-service portal.
At the bottom of the portal, select 'Create a New Starter Information credential'.
Enter your personal information on the first page. All fields are optional. When you're finished, select 'Continue'.
Enter your identity document information on the next page. All fields are optional. When you're finished, select 'Continue'.
Enter your contact details on the next page. All fields are optional. When you're finished, select 'Continue'.
Enter your emergency contacts on the next page. All fields are optional. When you're finished, select 'Continue'.
On the next screen you can confirm whether you want to:
- create the credential, store it in your digital wallet and share it with your trust
- just create the credential to store in your digital wallet
- cancel this process if you've changed your mind
If you choose to create, or create and share, the credential, you'll see another QR code.
Scan this new QR code with your Microsoft Authenticator app. You'll then see the option to 'Add' at the bottom of the app.
When you've added the credential, return to your browser. You'll see the portal page with a green notification showing that the credential has been created successfully.
