163 sites in total receive improved connectivity including 47 GP sites. Improved connectivity also supports a new community diagnostic centres at Skegness Hospital and Boole Technology Centre with improvements to remote staff access and remote services.
Challenge
The area is rural and sparsely populated, full fibre connectivity is very limited.
The regional population can swell by more than 100,000 people during peak holiday season introducing variability in NHS demand.
There are a large level of elderly residents with long term conditions which puts added pressure on services.
A number of sites are hitting full HSCN network capacity.
Solution
Improved connectivity, particularly to critical sites where sites are hitting full capacity.
Circuit upgrades to mitigate the risk of PSTN switch off and loss of telephony services.
Re-routing of internet traffic off HSCN connections to increase capacity to HSCN.
Tactical solutions where gigabit is not available including bridging solutions where fixed fibre to premises (FFTP) is not available.
