Guidance for GP practices about when patients can’t view their GP health records in the NHS App
The GP system reflects the NHS App. For GP health records, you can:
- give the patient full historic access or partial access to their records
- set the patient’s GP health record from a 'view from date'
- remove incorrect information from the patient’s GP health record
- upload any additional documents in the appropriate file type
What to check when patients say they can't access their medical records:
Check
- can you see what they are looking for in their GP health record on your GP system
- do you have access to view the relevant section(s)
- has the view from date on the relevant section(s) been set far enough
- have the relevant parts been made available for online viewing
If the answer is yes to all these questions escalate to the GP systems supplier or NHS App support team.
Remember the NHS App mirrors what is in your GP system.
