Navigating Databricks
When you have logged into Databricks, you will see the main Databricks display page.
You can access the Databricks functions from the sidebar and the main screen.
We have listed the main functions below.
Databricks
Returns you to the Databricks Data Science and Engineering screen.
Workspace
Displays personal and shared folders and notebooks that you have permissions to access. Refer to Using notebooks and clusters and Shared folders for further information.
Repos
Enables you to integrate with GitLab to use Git functionality such as cloning a remote repo, running notebooks or accessing project files stored in a remote GitLab repo. Refer to the Using GitLab in SDE guidance for further information.
Catalog
Displays the list of databases and tables that you have permissions to access. Refer to the Shared databases section for further information.
New
Creates a new notebook where you can write and execute code. The notebook is created within your personal folder which will only be accessible by yourself and will not be shared. Please refer to the Creating and using notebooks section for further information.
