Prevent Duty Data Return
Data Provision Notice to require the submission of data from NHS trusts to monitor their compliance with the Prevent Duty.
Overview
The Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015 places a legal duty on NHS trusts to consider the Prevent Duty when delivering their services.
The data specified in this Notice will be used to demonstrate how NHS providers are delivering the key elements of the Duty. These include:
- having identified Prevent leads
- delivery of awareness training
- making referrals
- engagement with the relevant partnership forums that coordinate the Prevent Duty at local and regional levels across the public sector.
Scope
This Notice is served on:
- all NHS trusts.
Collection
This quarterly collection transferred to NHS Digital with effect from April 2018.
Updates
10 December 2024: The DPN has been updated to reflect a change in submission mechanism from the Strategic Data Collection Service (SDCS) to the Data Collection Framework (DCF).The number of data items being collected has also significantly reduced.
7 October 2022: Version 2.0 of this Notice has been updated to reflect changes made to wording and values in line with changes to national guidance. Data submitters have already been notified of these changes.
