Part of General Practice Appointments Data (GPAD) secure dashboard user guide
Smartcards: accessing the dashboard
The dashboard is live and ready for access via smartcard. Follow these steps to get started.
Summary
The dashboard is live and ready for access via smartcard. Follow these steps to get started.
Step 1 – smartcard setup checks
To see your practice’s appointment data you’ll need to have each practice code on your smartcard along with at least one of the following activity codes assigned for each of the required practice codes.
- B0360 (view detailed health records) which also grants access through B8006 (execute clinical reports)
- B0258 (execute contracting reports)
- B0945 (execute management reports)
- B0560 (perform patient admin)
Work with your local Registration Authority (RA) and practices to get one of these codes added where they are not already present. If you don’t know your local RA, many (but not all) are listed on our service provider contact details page, or you can contact your local integrated care board (ICB) sub-group for assistance.
You’ll need to check your system status with regards to NHS Credential Management software which is required to access the dashboards via modern browsers. This is currently being deployed by ICB sub-groups and IT support organisations across the NHS estate. Check if NHS Credential Management is installed on your machine.
If the above link informs you that NHS Credential Management is not installed, we recommend that you contact your local ICB sub-group or IT support to find out the deployment path. Deployments are happening rapidly, and your situation will likely be resolved soon.
If this does not solve your immediate issue, discuss options with your local IT on how to get your machine updated ahead of their deployment schedule, or call the service desk on the number below.
Step 2 – access the GP appointments dashboard using this URL
Once you’ve set-up your smartcard and checked it works, you can access the dashboard.
Read the user guide to help you get the most out of the dashboard.
Step 3 – queries and support
If you have any queries and need additional support on your setup, please contact the National Service Desk on [email protected] or 0300 303 5035.
