A list of your organisation’s previously submitted files will also be displayed.

Select file to upload

Click on the Browse or Choose file button to browse for the file to be uploaded. Search the file upload dialogue box for the file.

Select the file and click Open to begin the upload process.

Note
  • only files in valid .csv format will be accepted
  • ensure that the file name is in the format as detailed in the previous chapter
  • the patient_.csv file must be included in the first upload

Continue to select one by one all the files you wish to upload. You can select up to 15 files at once before uploading to CAP.

Once you have selected all your files, click on the Upload button to submit them.

Upload chosen files

Once the files have been uploaded, you will see messages on screen to show they have been processed. The dashboard will indicate whether they have been successfully imported or if there are any warnings or errors that need to be addressed. Please ensure you view the file details for information on any warnings or errors.

Validating the upload

file submission details

The View file details screen shows the number of records which were successfully imported, those imported with warnings and those which were unsuccessfully loaded.

If any records are either imported with warnings or unsuccessful, the reasons will be given in a table below. Please check the notification field which explains what the error is and make corrections to the data in the .csv files and re-upload. The record will not be successfully uploaded to CAP if there are any error messages displayed which remain uncorrected, and your data will not be included in the NDA.

If the record has been successfully imported with warnings, this means that there may be an issue with the data quality and it is advisable to check these records and reupload if necessary.

The patient_.csv file is processed first and if it encounters any errors the records with errors will be rejected at this point. The file submission details page will display what errors need to be fixed before reattempting upload. For records in the patient_.csv file that are correct, the corresponding records in subsequent .csv files will then be processed. If any errors are found in these sections, the affected records will again be rejected.

If you upload a record for patient.csv and then try and upload the same record again with no changes you should get the following error:

" There is already an existing glucose technologies record with these values."

Disregard this message, it is just a warning. The content has been uploaded successfully previously.

Reporting

Registered users can access the data for their own organisation and generate reports. To do this, see the Accessing your data via the Clinical Audit Platform (CAP) guidance.
