‘Squeeze in’ appointments

In some situations, such as to meet higher than expected demand, you will need to add extra appointment slots beyond the planned capacity.

You can use the 'Squeeze in' option to add an extra appointment slot between existing slots in a session without extending the length of the session. For example, this may be useful if a patient needs to be seen soon, but the current appointment session is fully booked, especially if the session holder is running ahead of time. 

To squeeze in an appointment slot:

1. Access Appointment Book.

Click the EMIS icon, point to Appointments and then select Appointment Book.

The Appointment Book is displayed.

2. Use the calendar to select the required date, and then select the required session.

3. Right click the appointment slot after which you want to insert the extra appointment slot and select Squeeze In. A new appointment slot will squeezed in halfway between the two existing slots.

If you cancel a squeezed in appointment slot, the session reverts to its previous length and timings.
