Health Checks
Patients with a learning disability who had a health check by sex
57.8% of patients (58.4% female and 57.4% male) with a learning disability had a Learning Disability Health Check in 2019-20, a statistically significant increase from 51.6% (52.3% female and 51.1% male) in 2015-16.
Patients with a learning disability who had a health check by age band
The 14 to 17 age band is the only age group that shows an annual increase in the percentage of health checks carried out over the five years, from 25.3% in 2015-16 to 38.7% in 2019-20 (an increase of 13.4 percentage points).
All other age bands show an increase in the percentage of health checks carried out each year from 2015-16 to 2018-19, however there is a decrease in the percentage of health checks carried out for these age bands in 2019-20. This decrease is significant in the following age bands: 25 to 34, 35 to 44, 50 to 54, 60 to 64, 65 to 69, 75 and over.
