Hip Replacements
Success
As part of the hip replacement questionnaire, patients are asked "Overall, how are the problems now compared to before your operation?" The chart below shows that 95% of patients who answered this question felt their problems were better than before their operation (86.6% reported feeling much better and 8.3% feeling a little better).
Satisfaction
Patients were also asked "How would you describe the results of your operation?" 93% of hip replacement patients who answered this question described the results as either excellent, very good or good.
Knee Replacements
Success
Patients undergoing knee replacements were asked the same question as hip replacement patients regarding the success of the operation - "Overall, how are the problems now compared to before your operation?" The chart below shows that 90% of patients who answered this question felt their problems were better than before their operation (75.6% reported feeling much better and 14.7% feeling a little better).
Satisfaction
As with hip replacements, knee replacement patients are asked "How would you describe the results of your operation?" 87% of knee replacement patients described the results as either excellent, very good or good.
