Maternities with an unknown smoking status

In quarter 3 of 2021-2022 the number of maternities with an unknown smoking status was 2.0%. This is a decrease from 2.5% in quarter 2 of 2021-2022.

The following 11 CCGs recorded 5% or more of their maternities with an unknown smoking status:

  • NHS Chorley and South Ribble CCG (16.3%),
  • NHS Greater Preston CCG (15.9%),
  • NHS Portsmouth CCG (15.0%),
  • NHS Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes CCG (11.3%),
  • NHS West Suffolk CCG (10.4%),
  • NHS South West London CCG (8.4%),
  • NHS Devon CCG (8.1%),
  • NHS Brighton and Hove CCG (7.1%),
  • NHS Dorset CCG (6.8%),
  • NHS East Sussex CCG (6.1%),
  • NHS Black Country and West Birmingham CCG (5.2%).
