Maternities with an unknown smoking status

In quarter 4 of 2023-2024 the number of maternities with an unknown smoking status was 2.5%. This is an increase from 1.8% in quarter 3 of 2023-2024.

The following 11 Sub-ICBs recorded 5% or more of their maternities with an unknown smoking status 

  • NHS Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West ICB - 10Q (44.3%)
  • NHS Humber and North Yorkshire ICB - 03F (20.3%)
  • NHS Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB - 00X (13.4%)
  • NHS Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB - 01E (13.0%)
  • NHS North Central London ICB - 93C (8.2%)
  • NHS Devon ICB - 15N (7.9%)
  • NHS North East and North Cumbria ICB - 01H (6.5%)
  • NHS West Yorkshire ICB - 36J (6.0%)
  • NHS South Yorkshire ICB - 02X (5.8%)
  • NHS Hertfordshire and West Essex ICB - 06N (5.6%)
  • NHS Frimley ICB - D4U1Y (5.3%).
