Managing requests overview
Understanding requests and the request workflow.
Which roles can do this?
- Registration Authority Manager
- Registration Authority Agent (Advanced)
- Registration Authority Agent
- Sponsor
Requests that can be managed in CIM
Registration Authority managers and agents can use Care Identity Management to approve or reject:
- a create position assignment request made by a sponsor
- a modify position assignment request made by a sponsor
All other requests will have a link that takes you to the Care Identity Service application. As we release more features, this will change.
If you can manage a request in CIM you will see a 'View request' link for that request within the 'Open requests' tab.
If you cannot manage a request in CIM, you will see a 'View request in CIS' link instead.
The request dashboard
The request dashboard helps Registration Authority teams manage the workflow of requests, and gives visibility of the actions they need to complete.
Request tabs
The 'Open requests' tab shows requests from your organisation that are awaiting approval.
Requests that have been closed by someone in your organisation, in the last 30 days, will show in the 'Closed requests' tab.
Your own requests will show in the 'Your requests' tab for 30 days.
If you are a Sponsor or Registration Authority, you will see any action that you have requested on someone's behalf.
Actions that you carry out on your own Care Identity profile, such as changing your contact details, will show as 'Completed' in 'Your requests'.
The option to filter or sort requests will only be shown when there are five or more rows. When there are fewer than five rows, the filtering and sorting options will not show.
Understanding which requests will be shown
Not all requests will show. If you do not have the right to approve or reject a request, you will not see that request in the list.
For example, a Sponsor will not see the requests of another Sponsor listed in 'Open requests'. However, a Registration Authority Advanced Agent or Manager will see any requests from a Sponsor in their organisation, listed in 'My requests'. They could then view or grant the request from the dashboard.
Requests that you have made will show in 'My requests', but not in 'Open requests', because you cannot approve them yourself.
View requests link
Requests that can be managed in Care Identity Management will have a link that says 'View request'.
If you or someone else has already opened the request, but has not approved or rejected it, it will show as locked. You can unlock it by clicking the link that says 'View locked requests', and selecting to unlock.
All other requests will have a link that takes you to the Care Identity Service application. As we release more features, this will change.
