Downloading credentials from elearning for healthcare (elfh)
How to download learning credentials to your Digital Staff Passport.
This feature is currently in private beta.
Who should use this guidance
Use this guide if you have completed your elearning on the elearning for healthcare Hub and want to share it with your employer via Digital Staff Passport.
Before you start
You will need the Microsoft Authenticator app on your phone. Download Microsoft Authenticator from:
You will need an NHS identity credential downloaded to your Microsoft Authenticator digital wallet. If you do not have an identity credential, you will need to register with the Digital Staff Passport service at your current trust. If you are new to the NHS, you will need to register with the service at your new organisation.
Download credentials from elfh Hub
To start, log in to elfh Hub where you do your learning or training.
Access Digital Staff Passport to download training credentials, available from the home page under ‘My elearning’.
Select the ‘Launch’ button.
Your browser will open a new tab to the Learning Hub, where you can see your learning credentials available to download.
Open the relevant learning credential. You’ll be prompted to verify your identity before you can download the credential.
Note: before you can download your learning credential, you’ll need to have registered for Digital Staff Passport and have an NHS identity credential to share.
You’ll now see a QR code. You'll just see the QR code on a web page, but if you’re on a mobile device you’ll see a button to open up Microsoft Authenticator.
Web page
Mobile
Scan the QR code using the Microsoft Authenticator app on your smartphone. The scan icon is in the bottom-right of the screen.
Once you scan the QR code and work through the steps on your Microsoft Authenticator app, you will see the QR code replaced by a 'Verifying credentials' message.
You’ll then be prompted to 'Share' at the bottom of the screen.
The Microsoft Authenticator app will notify you that you can return to the previous application. When you return to your browser, the Learning Hub page should now refresh and display the credentials page again
Open the credential and select ‘Add to wallet’.
You'll now see another QR code. Scan this code with your Microsoft Authenticator app using the instructions above.
When you've scanned the QR code, select ‘Next’ to download your learning credential to your wallet.
The Learning Hub page will now refresh and you’ll see a confirmation message and status next to the learning credential you downloaded.
What happens next
You can repeat this process to download additional learning credentials.
You can choose to share your learning credentials with any trust you are registered with via the Digital Staff Passport employee self-service portal.
Reissue credentials to your wallet
Find the credential you want to reissue in your Microsoft Authenticator digital wallet and select ‘Add to wallet again'.
You'll see a message asking you to check you want to add the credential again and warning you to delete the existing issued credential from your wallet to avoid confusion. Select ‘Confirm’ to proceed.
Check the details and select 'Verify your identity'.
You can now proceed using the same instructions as in the previous section of this guidance.
Delete credentials from your wallet
Log into your Microsoft Authenticator app and go to the 'Verified IDs' tab in the bottom-right.
Select the credential you want to delete. You'll now see the details of this credential.
If this is the credential you want to delete, select the delete icon in the top-right of the screen.
