Share identity with trust - email address error
What to do if you see an error saying that your email already exists in the Digital Staff Passport service.
The issue
You are trying to share your identity with a trust and you see an error saying that your email address already exists.
Likely cause
Either:
- you have been sent an invitation with a link to Digital Staff Passport, but you accessed the service through a link on the website - this causes the system to flag your application as a duplicate
- the system has timed out or an unexpected error has occurred
What to do
Start the journey from your computer if possible, as it cuts down on switching between screens on your smartphone.
Search your inbox for an email:
- From: NHS Digital Staff Passport
- Title: Invitation to sign up - [name of trust]
Click on the 'START NOW' link in the email.
On the screen you see next, choose 'This is my first time registering with any organisation’.
Continue through the steps until a confirmation screen appears.
