The 1 to 2 year NDC Platform and Integration Strategy provides guidance to local areas and suppliers who need to determine investment decisions now.

This strategy has been updated following feedback from both the technology industry and local NHS and social care organisations (March 2023).

Updating this strategy

The strategy was updated to reflect the 2023/24 roadmaps and to provide a greater understanding of platform capabilities and to support the delivery of:

  • DHSC’s 'A plan for digital health and social care'
  • NHS England Transformation Directorate guidance on Who Does What to deliver digital transformation in the health and care system
  • our plans for how citizens will use our national channels, including the journeys and features they offer, as defined by user feedback and our channel proposition development initiative
  • DHSC’s 'Data Saves Lives Strategy'

In the next 6 months

In the next 6 months, we will provide greater visibility and advice by:

  • publicly publishing and promoting our channel roadmaps - identifying where capabilities and content are now available for use by local systems and suppliers (published March 2023)
  • reaching out to public bodies and charities to raise the awareness of the value of our content publishing tools, that feed key products like the service finders
  • promoting our ‘content modularisation’ offer to help local areas and suppliers provide a flexible and personal content offering to their users 

Further updates will be published via our NDC roadmaps for the NHS website and NHS App so that local areas and suppliers can make decisions with fresh information and evidence.
