Current chapter – Submitting data into Clinical Audit Platform (CAP)


1. Log into the Clinical Audit Platform (CAP)

Once the SSO account has been created you can sign in to the NDA portal on the Clinical Audit Platform at https://clinicalaudit.hscic.gov.uk/


2. Access the file submission dashboard 

From the NDA Structured Education CAP Home page, click on File Submission Dashboard.

You will see the File Submission Dashboard.

You can also see a list of your previously submitted file uploads.example list of previously updated submitted files to the file submission dashboard


3. Browse for file

To browse for the file click on the browse button.  You will also be able to see the file upload box.

Only files in valid .csv format will be accepted. So ensure that the file name is in the format below before uploading the file

  • patienteducation_ (for example patienteducation_01012020)

4. Select file to upload

Search file upload dialogue box for the file to be uploaded. Select the file and click Open to begin the upload process.

Continue to select one by one all the files you wish to be uploaded. You can upload up to 13 files at once before uploading to CAP.

Once you have selected all your files, click on the Upload button to submit them.

Once the files have been uploaded successfully, you will see the following message. This confirms that the file(s) has been uploaded to CAP and that the validation process has completed. Ensure you view the Job Details section for each file to verify that no errors have been identified.


5. Validating the upload

To check the status of the file, click the click here option which will bring up the file submission details screen.

This screen shows the number of files which were successfully imported, those imported with warnings and those which were unsuccessfully loaded.

If any files are either imported with warnings or unsuccessful, the reasons will be given shown in the example table.  This can be accessed via the view file details link.

Check the notification field which explains what the error is and make corrections to the data in the spreadsheet, then recreate the .csv files and re-upload.

The file will not be successfully uploaded to CAP if there are any error messages displayed which remain uncorrected, and your data will not be included in the NDA.
