Part of Job Evaluation Audit and KPI data collection technical guidance
Coverage and approach
Coverage of the collection
A Data Provision Notice (DPN) is a formal legal instruction issued by NHS England under the Health and Social Care Act 2012. It requires specified health and social care organisations to submit defined datasets to support NHS England’s statutory functions.
Organisations in scope of this notice are requested to provide the data in the form and manner specified.
The scope of the collection encompasses secondary care services in England across the following settings:
- foundation or non-foundation trusts, including acute, ambulance mental health, specialist, combined and community care services settings
Approach to the data collection
NHS England is taking a phased approach to job evaluation (JE) data collection.
The initial focus is on board readiness and how organisations are applying job evaluation across nursing and midwifery roles.
An audit of JE practice, aligned to NHS Staff Council guidance (Action needed on job evaluation outcomes for nursing and midwifery staff see Appendix 1), will be undertaken at a later stage.
Subsequently, the scope of the collection will expand to include the wider Agenda for Change (AfC) workforce.
This technical guidance will be updated as later phases of the data collection are introduced.
