Preparing to submit NHS CHC PLDS data

NHS CHC Patient Level Data Set data submissions are to be made via the Message Exchange for Social Care and Health (MESH) as of 1 May 2022. See below for further details and guidance.

The NHS Continuing Health Care Patient Level Data Set (NHS CHC PLDS) Data Set XML schema can be downloaded from the Technology Reference Update Distribution (TRUD) portal. See link below. 

What to submit

The data requirements of the NHS CHC PLCS are set out fully in the Technical Output Specification document which is available to download from the Implementation tools and guidance web page (link below).

The NHS CHC PLDS user guidance documents can also be found on each of these pages. These documents provide guidance supplementary to the Technical Output Specification with regard to submitting data tables and individual data items.

The NHS CHC PLDS Information Standard supporting documents are also an important reference point with regard to scope and requirements of the data set. These can be found on the NHS CHC PLDS Information Standard web page (link also below).
