Hip Replacements
Success
As part of the hip replacement questionnaire, patients are asked "Overall, how are the problems now compared to before your operation?" The chart below shows the majority of patients who answered this question felt their problems were much better than before their operation (86.8%) and 8.2% feeling a little better.
Satisfaction
Patients were also asked "How would you describe the results of your operation?" 45.8% of hip replacement patients who answered this question described the results as excellent and 32.6% described the results as very good.
Knee Replacements
Success
Patients undergoing knee replacements were asked the same question as hip replacement patients regarding the success of the operation - "Overall, how are the problems now compared to before your operation?" 74.9% of patients said they felt much better after the operation compared to before and 14.8% feeling a little better.
Satisfaction
As with hip replacements, knee replacement patients are asked "How would you describe the results of your operation?" Patients described the results as excellent in 29.6% of procedures and very good in 35.3% of procedures.
