In quarter 1 of 2021-2022 the number of maternities with an unknown smoking status was 2.2%. This is an increase from 1.3% in quarter 4 of 2020-2021.

The following 9 CCGs recorded 5% or more of their maternities with an unknown smoking status:

  • NHS County Durham CCG (55.4%)
  • NHS Chorley and South Ribble CCG (36.4%)
  • NHS Greater Preston CCG (34.4%)
  • NHS Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes CCG (11.9%)
  • NHS Tees Valley CCG (11.2%)
  • NHS West Suffolk CCG (9.2%)
  • NHS Brighton and Hove CCG (7.3%)
  • NHS Herefordshire and Worcestershire CCG (5.8%)
  • NHS Bassetlaw CCG (5.2%)

No data was received for NHS Leeds CCG and NHS West Sussex CCG.
