This report presents statistics on women’s smoking status at time of delivery, at Sub Integrated Care Board (Sub-ICB) Location, Integrated Care Board (ICB), and national levels. This release includes provisional data for quarter 1 of 2022-23.

Key facts are for quarter 1, 2022-23

8.9% of mothers were known to be smokers at the time of delivery

A 0.5 percentage point decrease from quarter 4 of 2021-2022 (9.4%), but above the national ambition of 6% or less

10 out of 106 submitting Sub-ICBs met the national ambition of 6% or less
