Maternities with an unknown smoking status

In quarter 1 of 2022-2023 the number of maternities with an unknown smoking status was 3.0%. This is an increase from 1.4% in quarter 4 of 2021-2022.

The following 15 Sub-ICBs recorded 5% or more of their maternities with an unknown smoking status:

  • NHS Frimley ICB - D4U1Y (40.2%)
  • NHS Devon ICB - 15N (24.8%)
  • NHS Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes ICB - M1J4Y (20.6%)
  • NHS Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West ICB - 14Y (16.1%)
  • NHS Hampshire and Isle of Wight ICB - 10R (12.3%)
  • NHS Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB - 01E (11.1%)
  • NHS Suffolk and North East Essex ICB - 07K (10.8%)
  • NHS Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB - 00X (8.6%)
  • NHS Hertfordshire and West Essex ICB - 07H (7.5%)
  • NHS Mid and South Essex ICB - 99G (7.4%)
