GP Practice NHS App quick guide

How patients can access NHS App services

Patients can download the NHS App on their smartphone or tablet. All NHS App services can also be accessed by logging in through the NHS website.

Connecting the NHS App to your local system

Each practice creates an online account for patients on their local computer system. When an account is created, your system will generate a PIN document with three pieces of information which your patient can use these details to verify their identity in the NHS App:

1.       Linkage Key (EMIS) or passphrase (TPP) for example 0dw1f1p4a/2!35

2.       Account ID for example 0123456

3.       Your ODS Code for example YO1234

The NHS App will mirror your patient’s online account and any permissions set by the practice will be visible in their NHS App for example full clinical record, prescriptions.
