Sending your data as an XML file

Current Chapter

Current chapter – Sending your data as an XML file

About XML files

Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a markup language that defines a set of rules for encoding documents in a format that is both human-readable and machine-readable.

Submitting data as XML

The CSDS is submitted to NHS Digital using an XML file that is compliant with the CSDS v1.5.1 XML Schema. The XML schema has been developed along with an CSDS Intermediate Database (IDB) tool that can be used as an alternative to the XML schema to enable providers to load or copy their data into the provided table structure for submission to the CSDS.

Where to get the schema for the XML file

The XML schema can be downloaded from TRUD in the same way already described within this document.
