Cancer incidence by Integrated Care Board

In 2021, the estimated age-standardised cancer incidence rates varied across the country by cancer groups and gender. Estimates in the accompanying tables are provided for Cancer Alliances and Integrated Care Boards (ICBs). 

The smallest current health geography is the ICB and for bowel cancer, the NHS Frimley ICB had the highest rate for males at 103 per 100,000 people and NHS Gloucestershire ICB had the highest rate for females at 73 per 100,000 people.  The NHS North West London ICB had the lowest rate for males at 73 per 100,000 people and NHS Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland ICB had the lowest rate for females at 50 per 100,000 people. 

For breast cancer in females, the NHS Gloucestershire ICB had the highest rate at 207 per 100,000 people, whereas the NHS North East London ICB had the lowest rate at 158 per 100,000 people. 

For lung cancer, the NHS Greater Manchester ICB had the highest rate for males and females at 113 and 100 per 100,000 people. The NHS Gloucestershire ICB had the lowest rate for males and females at 49 and 43 per 100,000 people. 

For prostate cancer in males, the NHS North Central London ICB had the highest rate at 235 per 100,000 people, whereas the NHS Birmingham and Solihull ICB had the lowest rate at 138 per 100,000 people.
