Summary
Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a rare disease which occurs at any age, has many causes, and often shortens life expectancy. In the UK, 7 hospitals are designated to diagnose and treat PH in adults, and 1 hospital for children. The National Audit of Pulmonary Hypertension is an audit of processes and outcomes and all 8 designated centres participate. The Audit uses National Standards to measure clinical practice.
This 13th Annual Report includes 13 year survival curves for diagnostic groups and reference tables, as well as results against the National Standards. Other documents include: open data in CSV format and 7 years of National Standard aggregated data by PH centre.
Due to the varied impact of the COVID-19 pandemic across the UK and the effect this has had on individual PH centres, audit standard results have been published but not assessed at PH centre level this year.
Key Facts
- All 8 specialist PH centres covering England, Scotland and Wales took part in the 2021-22 Audit.
