Explanatory note for Golden Jubilee: Data submission and reporting
Scottish data is submitted to the Audit using a pseudonymised patient identifier (see Glossary: Patient cohorts for further information).
Due to different information governance rules in Scotland, data submitted from Golden Jubilee is anonymised and only the first part of the postcodes and the month and year of birth/death are provided. For reporting, Golden Jubilee dates of birth are considered to be the first day of the provided month, while their dates of death are considered to be the last day of the provided month. For English and Welsh patients, the exact dates of birth and death are used.
Scotland are not included in the lung disease or left heart disease survival curves due to difficulties in obtaining death data for those patients (see Survival analysis: Overview for further information).
Explanatory note for Newcastle: Data submission and reporting
Newcastle operates a shared care clinic in Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust (RWA). Hull submits their own data to the Audit. For reporting, Hull data is combined with Newcastle data and reported as ‘Newcastle’.
