Part of Cancer waiting times user guide
Inter-Provider transfers: create, edit, delete
Where you have IPT data, the majority of this will be submitted as part of your normal bulk upload as part of valid dataset. However, there will be times when you need to create, edit or delete this data using the on-screen edit functionality. This works in a similar way to the way in which you would do this for non-IPT records, except you will be doing this in the IPT section of the record.
Create Inter-Provider Transfer (IPT)
You can only do this for patients who have an NHS number which exists in PDS.
From the patient search, enter the NHS number and click search.
The active records for that patient will display.
Click on view or break glass in the actions column.
When you search for a record, if you are not associated with it, this will be break glass view.
The record page will display, from here you can either create the IPT record from the button at the top of the screen.
Or scroll down to the IPT selection.
Clicking on create inter provide transfer takes you to the create patient record screen.
Scroll down to the IPT section to create the date you need.
Further guidance is also available within the Addendum to the National Cancer Waiting Times Monitoring Dataset Guidance.
When you have created the IPR record it will appear under the action section of the Inter Provider Transfer.
Editing IPT
If you select edit from any IPT record you will be taken to the update section.
Scroll down and edit the fields you need to edit.
If you are the referring organisation you will only be able to edit the referring section and vice versa for receiving.
Deleting IPT
Select delete from the transfer you want to delete. You will be presented with an on screen Warning message which confirms the transfer you are about to delete.
Once you have clicked delete from this message you will not be able to retrieve the data and the action will be recorded on the record audit.
The action is also confirmed from the patient record list.
Notifications
Notifications alert you to a change which has been made by another user on a record you have created. If you have new notifications they will appear on the home page when you have signed in.
The detail from view audit.
Notifications cannot be delivered to users via email or saved and exported offline to read later because they are linked to changes to a record which is stored in audit, therefore they need to be viewed in CWT.
Notifications are automatically deleted after 30 days.
