Find a patient
The Personal Demographics Service (PDS) includes the ability to view and edit patient demographic information.
Patient search is available by NHS Number, basic search, advanced search or by postcode (with additional access rights).

Where multiple search results appear, select the patient you’re looking for:
If you need to return to your search there is a ‘Back to search’ results button available. This will take you back to your list of results where you can select another patient, refine your search, or perform a new search.

This new screen presents all patient information and alert banners available for a patient in one place.

Allow end users to navigate to demographic, reasonable adjustments, Female Genital Mutilation - Information Sharing (FGM-IS) and Child Protection - Information Sharing service (CP-IS) information in more detail.

Navigation to further information is available from the right-hand menu.
New layout for patient demographics
A two column view is now available for patient demographics.
After searching for a patient, click on the ◫ I icon at the top of the patient tab to switch to the new two column view. Your selection will be remembered by your device.
The buttons along the top bar will allow you to switch between the patient’s demographic information, GP and care providers, contacts and next of kin, and any flags or alerts the patient has on their record.
You can also use the View History button to be taken to the historical Information for each separate section on the patient tab.
You can switch back to the one column view at any time by using the same button.
