Summary Care Record
Clinical panel
The Clinical panel shows the presence of a patient’s Summary Care Record (SCR).
SCRs are an electronic record of important patient information, created from GP medical records. They can be seen and used by authorised staff in other areas of the health and care system involved in the patient's direct care.
This text will change depending on the patient’s SCR preference set by their GP practice. The options displayed will be either:
- Summary Care Record with Additional Information
- Summary Care Record
- No Summary Care records exists for this patient
Selecting the SCR text from the Clinical panel will then display the standard Permission to view screen (PTV).
Permission to view screen (PTV):
Once this is complete, the SCR is displayed and can be navigated either by selecting the heading in the left hand menu, or by scrolling through the patient’s Summary Care Record.
Additional functionality has been added to NCRS that supports end users by highlighting items in the Summary Care Record, identified by the search text entered.
