Moving from CIS1 Identity Agent to CIS2 Smartcard Connect

NHS CIS1 Identity Agent will no longer be supported from February 2027 and all organisations will need to use NHS CIS2 Smartcard Connect from that date. (Updated 24 June 2025)

Revised retirement date for CIS1 Authentication

CIS1 Authentication will now be retired on 28 February 2027. (Published 3 January 2025)

Smartcard series 4, 5 and 6 are being phased out from 31 January 2025

Deprecation notice: CIS1 Authentication
